I got a speeding ticket on the way home from work – less than a mile from my house – two weeks ago. I was doing 51 in a 35. No biggie, right? I figured I’d just go to traffic school to get it ‘erased,’ so I did some research into how I’d make that all happen.

That’s when I discovered Orange County’s dirty little secret.

If you live in Orange County and you get a traffic ticket in Orange County, you have to attend Orange County’s own traffic school at a courthouse.

That’s right – no online traffic school and no ‘comedy’ traffic school allowed – no exceptions! This has me slightly annoyed.

For the next year and a half I have to be on my best behavior to avoid another ticket unless I want to see my insurance rates go through the roof.
