Found at Dartman’s World of Wonder, this album is a post-Lucy recording of Bill Frawley’s pre-Lucy vaudeville hits.
It’s not particularly good, but it’s not horrible either. Just close your eyes and imagine Fred Mertz serenading you “By The Light of the Silvery Moon” and you’ve got the idea.
Where to buy?
This is one of my favorite albums of all time. It’s “not particularly good” because it’s particularly great.
Bill woul by d have been in his early seventies when he recorded this album. I remember my grandmother having a signed copy. My grandmother would play records and would sing along to them while she did her house work. This would be a fairly rare album by now considering being from 1958. Dot records was a small label and likely did not make a million of these as it was an o!dies album selling to a limited audiences. I would like to hear it again for the memories of my grandmother when I was a little kid.
I finally found it. It’s great.
